Chairman - Sri Lanka Shippers’ Council

Mr. Suren Abeysekera is a logistics and supply chain professional with 20 years’ experience managing diverse logistics functions spanning from freight consolidation to regional management of product logistics. Attached to Mast Industries (Far East) Limited, based out of Sri Lanka, he currently manages logistics function of the Indian subcontinent region for the world-renowned women’s lingerie brand ‘Victoria’s Secret’. Prior to joining Mast/ Victoria’s Secret, he gathered extensive experience in freight consolidation, forwarding and NVOCC operations at APL Logistics and Expeditors International.

Suren with his vast knowledge in apparel supply chain and regional logistics operations, was a key contributor to the logistics sector of the National Export Strategy (NES) formulated by the EDB. He is a member of the logistics subcommittee of the Joint Apparel Association Forum and is also the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Shippers’ Council - the apex body looking after interests of importers and exporters of the country He specializes in International trade functions through his Diploma in International Trade, Shipping and Logistics (UK) and holds a Master of Science degree in Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management from the University of Bedfordshire, UK
