Bindu Ranasinghe is the Deputy General Manager for Commercial and Marketing at Hambantota International Port Group (HIPG), a role he has held since January 2018. Bindu is a key person in taking initiatives in new business development and management of existing partnerships, playing a pivotal role in shaping the port's strategic growth.
With over 25 years of experience in the port and logistics industry, Bindu brings a wealth of expertise to HIPG. His career spans senior leadership positions in prominent transport and logistics firms, including Transnet Terminals South Africa, X-Press Container Lines, Emirates Shipping, Sharaf Shipping, and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. In each role, he has been instrumental in driving expansion and fostering industry growth.

Since joining HIPG, Bindu has been instrumental in the establishment and development of the Commercial and Marketing department aligning it with HIPG's overarching strategic goals through his visionary leadership.

Bindu holds an MBA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Universidad Católica de Murcia, Spain, a Diploma in Professional Shipping from CINEC Maritime University in Sri Lanka, and an Executive Diploma in Service Management from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT) and has engaged in various professional development programs to stay at the forefront of industry advancements.
