Mr. Suren Abeysekera is a logistics and supply chain professional with over 25 years’ experience managing diverse logistics functions spanning from freight consolidation to regional management of product logistics. He currently manages international logistics operations for the world-renowned women’s lingerie brand ‘Victoria’s Secret’. Prior to joining VS, he gathered extensive experience in freight consolidation, forwarding and NVOCC operations at APL Logistics and Expeditors International. Mr. Abeysekera with his vast knowledge in apparel supply chains and global logistics operations, is currently a member of the logistics sub-committee of the Joint Apparel Association Forum and a Former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Shippers’ Council (affiliated to Ceylon Chamber of Commerce) - the apex body looking after interests of importers and exporters of Sri Lanka. He was also a policy council member of the Global Shippers’ Forum – UK and is a much sought-after industry professional who has served in many judging panels of national level logistics awards. Mr. Abeysekera specializes in international trade functions and holds a Master of Sciences degree in Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management (UK). He is also a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation and holds a Diploma in International Trade, Shipping and Logistics (UK).
